Garbage / Recycling

  • Recycling can be taken to the Shawnessy Community Recycling Depot, across from the Cardel Rec centre (map).
  • Garbage, electronics, and hazardous materials can be taken to the Shepard Landfill (map). A small fee may apply, but electronics recycling is free.

Shawnessy Public Library

The Shawnessy Public Library is located just inside the Cardel Rec Centre, and has many programs and activities.

Calgary Police Service


Using the following resources saves time for you and the police, and gives you direct access to CPS information.
  • Traffic Service Requests (bottom link) - Report speeding, illegal turns, and pedestrian/intersection safety issues.

  • Online Crime Reporting - Report property damage, thefts from vehicles or lost/stolen item offences
